Lawil Lambretta William
« on: May 11, 2015, 08:35:42 AM »
Being of that ilk I have bought a lovely Lambretta William (yes the one on ebay, yes I paid too much/wow you got that cheap/whatever  :o)

But the Propshaft rubber is massively perished.. so looking to change it, anyone know what it is off? Fiat 500?

I will be joining the register, only sent the email yesterday.

I will be registering it for the road...

I will be using it for fun   8) once it is all working lovely!

It will be interesting to see how you get on with the DVLA registering it as I recall someone having difficulty before, something to do with type approval? It may have been resolved by now. There are quite a few owners here so advice will be here soon no doubt.

Hi eaurouge unless you have had a personal message I don't think you have had an answer ? Try using the search function for Willam and you will possibly find an historic posting from an owner then pm them . They may not be using the forum at present but would get an email .  Oh by the way it's a Willam surely not a William ? Search for correct spelling ? Oh I dunno knowing our forum  >:(

Hope it's lots of fun and look forward to seeing some pictures. I'm sure someone else would have mentioned it before now if the Lawil vehicles shared any transmission components with the Lambretta Lambros?

You need to get hold of Scootashaun who is on here occasionally.  He has put one on the road in England.  Being an MOT expert he knows the score.

Search for him in the members section.

I don't know if they are correct, that was a pure guess! But if it is the right thing, there are these on Italian ebay.

Indeed I think it is, but spending that much on a guess is tricky!

Looks like an Isetta one to me. May be worth checking the dimensions.
I have one of the three arm drive couplings on the shelf from an Isetta and the holes measure 67mm apart approx from centre to centre.  Worth checking.
