Top Gear as expected
« on: June 17, 2015, 08:24:32 PM »
I see Chris Evans is to host Top Gear. It was so obvious he was going to be the choice. Yet we had to go through all the politicking. When he said he did not want the job - he meant he did, but did not want to be seen stabbing the prior guys in the back.

It will serve to retain the general drift of the thing, but I think it is a poisoned chalice. The Beeb had the chance to do something interesting and take a chance. It bottled it, as of course it always was going too. The worse case is we get two Top Gears pushing more serious and informative shows off the air to make room.

Glad I have not got a telly, nor pay for what I fear I will not want to watch.
