Isetta reflectors
« on: June 28, 2015, 02:52:48 PM »
Am I right in thinking that the reflectors fitted on the Isetta were Lucas RER25?

My car was originally fitted with plastic 3" tail lamps with integrated reflectors, but as it's a !959 model, the earlier glass lamps with separate reflectors are still correct, and I seem to be easier to find and look nicer IMO.

Mine have BSA marked on the lenses, is that British small arms or British standards authority? No Lucas marks but they may not be original.

Perhaps Birmingham Small Arms?

Genuine Lucas RER25 would have the Lucas moulded on the lens i think, like the piccy.

Sounds like a British Standards mark, known as the 'Kitemark'.

The plot thickens.......

I think the proper back lights would look good?

Or perhaps the Triumph Stag  style (upgrade?) as seen in 1979.

Non no. Its got nothing to do with BSA the motorcycle makers. Its just British standards authority followed by some numbers.  You are easy to wind up Richard!
I already did post a picture. If you enlarge it you can see the lettering.
