Heinkel-Trojan and BSA on the Avengers last night
« on: July 21, 2015, 04:07:52 PM »
True TV (Freeview 61) is showing these old shows at 8 pm on week days, last night's had a brief appearance of a red Heinkel-Trojan and a nice BSA motorcycle which collided with it. Hard to tell, but in the 2nd fairly brief shot it looked like it might have been a 4 wheeler.

I've found the necessary footage for those who missed it.

Trojan registration number is very hard to make out, but looks like CMJ or CMU 744

Wow, great work Malcolm! Ah yes, definitely a Trojan door badge, but in the last photo, 2nd reply that rear wheel does look further out than usual, so possibly twin rears!

There was also an Isetta in a street scene 1 or 2 nights ago, plus of course one episode with Emma Peel in a KR. Lots of interesting cars to see in The Avengers, all that, good action, Patrick McNee AND three beautiful partners.

Well done that man !! I have owned both a red Trojan bubble AND a pale blue/white BSA B25 Starfire - I wish I still had both . My god that BSA was a spirited bike , I have often thought of buying another , as apart from anything else it was the only British bike that I really thought was tall enough for me .

I'm not knowledgeable on bikes, but it certainly is a beauty! I have ridden Bantam, Triumph Tiger Cub and some mopeds.

Do you reckon that Trojan looks like a 4 wheeler Richard? In one frame the wheel looks too close to the edge of the rear cowl to be a single wheel, or am I mistaken?

As usual Marcus I am on my iPhone in a hotel room not on laptop, I can barely make out a back wheel at all much less identify a 4 wheeler . It is pretty unlikely really Marcus isn't it ?

Cheers Malcolm! Pretty unlikely, but that back wheel does seem to too far out for a 3 wheeler!

Thanks to Annabelle and dept. S I can make it out much better and am now inclined to agree with Marcus - how odd . ( I don't mean agreeing with Marcus  ;D )

A RHD four wheeler. Extraordinarily rare. I think only 4 made. I believe of those, two remain in New Zealand. Trojan Van is more common, if memory serves.

Eh?  Tap the photo to get it to expand from thumbnail to its full size, swipe to get relevant part centre screen, then expand further with two fingers.

It's just as clear (or just as blurred ... ) on my iPhone as it is on my 27" iMac!
