Whilst we were on the subject of Birkenhead , well I was  ;D. Vernons were not the first motor car constructor from the area , and I think not even the first tricycle manufacturer - try this for size ( the local newspaper cutting from before scanners  ( and straight lines  :D )

no idea why that's turned over - its correct in my computer -another great picture though  :)

Can I just say my Grandfather had what could be the first car accident in Liverpool. He drove into a trolley bus. Got the paper clipping somewhere.
