here's one member that didn't turn up , as it would knock a hole in a 100 quid - food petrol oil and camp fees plus more £'s if the spares tent had some goodies , so what was on offer - add a bit more cash and treat myself to 2 nice big red tool chest's from Machine Mart .

Once again a successful event and thanks to everyone who came along. I drove 188 miles on the way, to claim the award for furthest travelled. An almost trouble-free run - I had to remove the kick-start as it had slipped on the shaft and started interfering with the gear-change. Lots of interest, discussions, measuring and comparing notes about the three early Bonds which were there - two Mk A's and a Mk B.

Forgive me dave ! I read the story with interest at the time but I am not that familiar with Tony . I saw this plaque and was intrigued. a great piece of Bond history

I trust it was a very good garage, not just charging £1,000 for Bonds.  ;D  A rather pleasing thing to own, given Bond history.

I wondered why having gone to the trouble of making a plate, it had got screwed on with two randomly placed screws rather than using the holes in each corner. One of life's eternal mysteries!

I suggest the tiny rivets are not man enough to go through and hold the plate on? But if its ali there they should be.

don't think about extra holes - long term preservation of the self tapping screws and they get polished !

Knowing Bond owners general resourcefulness, I wonder if it was an early attempt at an on-board spares kit?
