I saw this website in one of the car magazines this month. Unlike the official Gov website, you don't need to enter the make or any other details except the number  - to check on a registration number.

Great stuff, thanks for the link. My old 1971 Mini Clubman Estate is still going, as is my old 1971 MG Midget. They both did me proud and glad to see they are still going, as is my old Trojan which I sold 2 years ago. I expected the Trojan would still be going, and possibly the MG, but would not have expected the Mini to survive long enough to become cherished.

One of my scrapped cars still brings back details so not sure you can gaurantee they are still about using this

That actually could be slightly worrying, as end of life legislation could have these failed scrapages coming back to haunt people on the list of owners. The Government like fees, especially when they created the problem in the first place. Money for old rope.

Just remembered the number of my old Ford Escort and that IS still showing, whereas several other vehicles I owned are not. I cannot believe that anyone would have restored that grotty old rust bucket in about 1985 when I gave it away. It served me well but was worn out.

it only seems to work with V5's (3 to date) issued , as I have LDC 831 log book , chassis plate and big box of bit's since 1970's .
