Secma Fun Tech wanted
« on: July 24, 2007, 07:58:06 PM »
Evenin' all

With a healthy slush fund burning a hole in my pocket, my thoughts have turned to "What can I add to the Devonport Collection?"

My neighbour has a road-legal quad which Mrs Devonport quite likes (well, she has been ill) but I'm thinking more along the lines of
a Secma Fun-Tech Qpod type buggy to drag behind the old Sherpa for off-site transport on our holidays.

The later the better, obviously, and a sensible price would be great.  Anyone know of any for sale please?

Bises a tous

Thanks Bob.

Is this Dave Morgan of the Welsh Microcar Club?
Any idea how old it is and how much he wants for it?

It is indeed. No idea of the age but it had a price tag of £1500 on it, in fact you can see it on one of the photos in the bath rally thread on this very forum. See you sunday if not too wet. BobP

Thanks for that, I've looked at the thread photo, looks like a nice car from a distance.

I'll be at Jean's, the Ligier is coughing and spluttering so it might be there, too.  Or,
I could bring the Nippi as it now has an MoT and tax!  Either way see you there.

Might be a good idea not to ride the Mobylette there...

Hi Nick, I think I will be at Jean's on Sunday. I've been trying to put a new roof on the workshop with a mate. Like a fool I stood on a wobbly table next to a pair of steps, then forgot I was on said table and walked of it! OUCH and all the other words came tumbling out my gob. I don't think I will come on the Mobylette. Rob D.

Hi Stuart

Yes, the Nippi made it through the test but it wasn't without a couple of heart-stopping
moments which started with the obese garage secretary telling the examiner how he
couldn't test it, that's wrong, this isn't good enough etc...  I could have slapped her.

Then he had to keep it over the weekend to seek advice from VOSA about the wheelchair
seat restraining mechanism (a seat belt strap!) and he had to fail it on the number plate
position and then moved the plate so it was near the light to pick up the illumination.

All's well that ends well, though, and when the weather picks up I'll take it out for a spin.

Thanks Stuart, but I'm looking for the 338cc four-wheeler and this one's the moped 50cc version.
There are a couple of the big ones on eBay at the moment but at stupid prices, nearly 3k.  The
classified ad one at £2500 has been sold.

I found a cracking road-legal buggy on eBay recently but Mrs D would prefer something with a roof
and doors - not unreasonably as it would make it a year-round toy!

We're off to France on Monday for 10 days and I will be trying to resist temptation in the form of
mopeds and microcars.
