£15,000 Messerschmitt
« on: August 20, 2007, 09:03:19 PM »
Hi all. Remember the Ebay £15,000 schmitt a couple of months ago? Did anyone save the ebay listing for it in a folder? The reason I ask is because I am in dispute with my insurers over an agreed value for my schmitt. I have to present them with a little dosier of recent messerschmitt sales to convince them that the sale prices have actually gone up this year!† If anyone has a record of it would they be kind enough to email it to me so I can print it off. Also the one that made £11,000 if you have it . Andy carters one at £13,600 I already have printed off. Has anyone else had trouble with there agreed valuations? I dont think I will be renewing with Lancaster next year. Thanks, BobP

Cheers!! Many thanks KR200. Its now printed off! I dont suppose you remember the two tone one that sold shortly after for about £11,000? You see I need at least three auction reports to convince these guys. Thanks again, Bob Purton.

Regarding insurance quotes, have a try of Carole Nash. They were the only company that would touch the Mini-Comtesse & they bent over backwards to get it decent cover at no extra cost. In fact I think they were so intriged by it, they were determined to get it on their books.....

Cheers Stuart. My Motorcycle is with Carol Nash but I had never thought of trying them for microcars. However my problem is not getting insurance but getting an appropriate agreed value. Its a strange thing. If you had a house with a rebuild value of say £100.000 but insured it for only £50,000 the insurance industry would give you a right telling off and penalise you for being under insured. When you want to be sure that your classic car is not under insured they fight you all the way! I even offered to pay a higher premium to get it ! Madness!anyway, back to the challange, Who knows the ebay listing number for the two tone £11,000 schmitt?

The two-tone £11,000 Messerschmitt was  280111398307

It was from May and the photos are no longer with the listing.
The listing itself will soon disappear as it is close to 90 days old.

I have the web page archived though if you want I can email you a PDF of that webpage with the photos in it so you can print it.

Stuart. Is that a ferret or a pollcat?

Could be either. A Ferret is only a domesticated Polecat. One is for stuffing in your trousers, ??? so I've heard, and for catching your dinner. The other catches his own dinner.
;D
Do they still have Ferrets in your trousers competions anymore?

Bob, I take it only UK auctions are applicable, however if you're one short and in need of some comparison, there's a Schmitt for sale in the US. Only £8500 at the moment though one to watch.

That's what I thought, maybe ex-Weiner collection as all the cars I've seen Bruce sell on ebay, are under his own pseudonym.

I think I can safely say, no one's never had a ferret down my trousers. Domesticated or otherwise....  ;D :o :-[

I was always led to believe that a polecat had diferent colouring to a ferret. What do I know ,Im only a city boy! I see BobD is selling his microbike on ebay, Bob ,if I win it would you ride it over to my place for me?

They can be any colour. A girl who passes my place takes some of hers out in a cage on wheels to have a run about on a nearby green.
Can't cycle that far on the bike. I'm also going to put my other bikes up for sale. Got fed up with them all!  ;D

It seems it s only a showroom condition!
Built in 1960, loads of mounting parts are wrong!!!
2 tone colour??
Or, if it would be an earlier item, the diamonds on the nose are wrong, and also the numberplate light though!
So, whatever you bidding on, its only a good looking car. ???
