we made it to the isle of Man with no problems, we bumped into Andy Hillman while waiting for the ferry. The crossing took three hours and we were delayed by one hour because of a problem with the ferry. :( ::)
-
we drove through Douglas and stopped inn peel to unload the bags into the hotel and also to go and drop the P50 off in the garage with the other peels. ;) ;D ;D
-
Was Andy Carter there?
-
Glad to see the L plates are still on!
-
surely you can't drive it can you jamie ? really ?
-
I have a provisional licence and insurance, so it is fine to drive it on the road. I wasn't sure whether to put 'L' plates on it, but one i am required to and two everyone thinks it would be funnier. ;D ;D :P

Good interview!
-
Very much looking forward to an update with pics . The itinerary and planning looked most impressive
-
Seems Mr cyphus was there with his ac p50,though sporting a different colour and reg to before, and no sign of Mr peel himself either?
-
Really ? I was informed that only original Peels were welcome , did they move the goalposts then ?
-
Having said that, having known Stuart for what must be over 10 years now,all probably isn't what it seems and he probably has managed to net himself a real one
-
No Richard, I think they used Rugby ones instead. Two ways of scoring in that game, differing points awarded though. Besides I do not think a fleet of U boats and the Luftwaffe would have kept Root away from the Isle of Man. He was even talking about bringing one of the cats back!
(Man man busy in shed removing tail and sticking extra toes on ordinary moggy.
'Genuine Manx cat, Mate. As genuine as dat Peel over der, innit?)'
(He was a Manxman from North East Londonish, or maybe he was fake too! Argh).

I have uploaded the Peels to Peel 2014 video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iq7aUGViAI
This is only the highlights video as i am still editing the longer full video. Anyway hope you enjoy the video and see some of what we got up to. :D
-
Thanks Dodger. I enjoyed that, especially the footage of the P50 on the open road darting about.
Congratulations to Grant for organising the event.
You still haven't told us what happen to yours, or is it too painful to talk about?

no, the points and the coil stopped working because they are so old, so it refused to run on the isle of man. So i have decided to replace the engine with a more reliable one. :D ;) ;D

Whilst we're here... ;)

You had better be joking young man!

Ah, so that's why you swapped for my Honda GX200 lump.... ;)
-
no, it just that i have been told that a internal coil would make the engine much more reliable. i will get the original engine running first tow. ;D ;D

Strange. In the world of moped engines its usually the other way around. The most reliable set up is an external battery/coil system. Still, I no nothing of DKW units.

Thanks Dodger, what a pleasure to watch the video. Sad i couln#d to it to bring my peels to the rally.
