Dear All,
Tony has sold his house, and embarked on his move to France and all sorts of disasters have befallen him!! First whilst loading his first van load he fell and broke his arm and several ribs. In spite of this he made one trip to France but the lorry broke down on the return journey. I have now had this email from him:
We are still in England, but without a house. In fact we are "camping out" on a day to day basis at a Travel Lodge in MK. So far just about everything has gone wrong. You already know about my broken arm and ribs. Very painful but Ibuprofen helps. The first load went off to France and is in a house we are renting for two months.. Coming home in the lorry the clutch started to slip. We got home but there is no way it will do another journey with a heavy load. We've been waiting since Friday to hear from a man who can repair the lorry but nothing yet. And most of our home is in the lorry; clothes, household stuff, even the charger for the mobile phone and the leads for the lap top, and my reading glasses! . We have cleared most of our stuff from Church Street, but there are still some major problems. Biggest of all are the cars stored there. Isetta, Scootacar, Frisky, Petite, some scooter parts, bicycles and odd bits and pieces from the cinema - plus the cinema projector! There is a real dilemma with the cars. The nice lady who lives at Church Street now wants the whole lot cleared (not surprisingly) and has issued an ultimatum for the end of the month. I don't want the cars scrapped but can't move them in that time. PLUS Lynne and I have to be in France on 21 & 22 May for the official handing over of our keys.
It won't be the end of the world if we lose the cars, but it would be a shame.
We have bought new bits for the mobile (07976 483172) and this laptop.
Do any of you know someone who could house one of these cars temporarily for him?
Do any of you know a man with a large van or lorry who could help with the removal?
Or if any one has any ideas how we can help, suggestions would be welcome. If you can help in any way it would probably be best to make contact direct with Tony on his new mobile number above. Or you
can of course contract me on 01580 891377 Jean
