I know the guy who posted that and he is in the USA.
Carlisle Pennsylvania is a HUGE auto enthusiast destination for all manner of events, so that is what he is referring to.

Never seen one. Are there any Maico cars in the UK? Was that not the basis of the Champions. Why does mentioning that always make me want to wee. Sorry that was the TV series, wasn't it. Damned fountains.
Not heard of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, particularly either.

Dear Richard
The only one I have seen is in a museum in Southern Germany, and a splendid looking car it is too.

Apparently Maico were pretty much bankrupt by 1957 but somehow managed to convince the coachbuilding company Gebrüder Beutler that things were fine and the Maico 500 Sport was the result. A few cars were put together for motor shows (4 according to Deutsche Kleinwagen), one of which did go to America before Beutler realised they weren't going to get paid. Although they look nothing like the other Maico's, they do look like scaled down versions of other Beutler vehicles from the same era.

There was also a one-off coupe and another coachbuilt sports by Wendler

Saw a couple at micro meetings in Germany in the 90s. Didn't think I might never see another one again.
