No snails? You have not seen how fast some of our lot drive! They would struggle to catch a plate of Burgundy Racing Snails on a day's road run, even with a lance.
Well it sounds like a call to Thumper. My goodness it would be great to go, despite my lack of interest in Isettas. At least Schmitts are not common in France, as I doubt I will get time to get anything else going. Have to look seriously at this.
-
you are welcome in our Burgundy ...
-
registration documents are ready ... if you wanna be the first , send me an email ... on line in website wednesday
-
hey guys, all is online now !

Dear All I will translate
If you go to the Bisbi web site you can see all the images from the 2012 Bisbi national rally. They are waiting for you to see.
There some amazing scooters and some very French microcars, along with Jean Do being very French.
Well worth a look

any questions friends ??
-
Yes I have a question, How can I retire early on a fat pension so that I can afford to come to your wonderful rally? ;D
-
Bob please copy me in on the answer . Western isles insight having a coffee overlooking The Isle of Arran . Wish I was retired - oddly enough up here from saturday that time I am on holiday. YES
-
...and Jesus said : " WAKE UP , start your Bubblecars and GO friends !! " .....
can't remember the exact holly bibble chapter....
-
Bob please copy me in on the answer . Western isles insight having a coffee overlooking The Isle of Arran . Wish I was retired - oddly enough up here from saturday that time I am on holiday. YES
My Uncle's answer was 'You have to work hard to be lazy'. Mind you he did have the advantage of a brilliant business idea and being able to put it into practice on his own. It worked and he got his millions by age 45 odd thereafter freewheeled on his business retiring as it dispersed. I learned much from him, and while not as well off I am using the template. If it had not been for idiot siblings I could be retired now, but I will be in a few years. When I think of what I used to do I realize I just would not now. Living out of a knackered van, driving deep into Europe in cold winter, as it was cheap ferries, to ferret out cars for sale in Britain after dropping of British sourced cars at new owners or traders in the low countries, more often than not. The rest of the time I was couriering, itself built up from contacts from the long days in Print Production management, and using that business to network car opportunities countrywide so as to always have the van full and the fuel paid by someone else, if possible. I could be on the road touching home briefly for 10 days. If not doing that it was buffing up noshers to sell, salting away the good stuff for the future. Yeah, Uncle was right. I worked pigging hard but no one really saw that, just me selling lots of interesting tackle they could not find. Happy days but I would not have the stamina to do it now, nor the hunger. The idea is to move on in life rather than be a one trick wonder.
Second thing is no one is going to invest for you and make you a fortune. They will always make more than you do, why wouldn't they? Add to that State lies and violence in taxation and there is only one way to a good retyirement. Take responsibility for it yourself and bdo not rely of the State or the blandishments of companies interested in managing your money. As a friend once said after a investment disaster I participated in 'An investment adviser is someone who invests your money till its all gone'!
Western Isles, a favourite and given fruition of plans I will tour them in classic cars having sailed all round them when I was younger. I still get the temptation to remove to the outer Isles and be damned with the rest of the world but a remote community.

so guys,
those who would like to meet us before registration to our bisbi national rally, will be able to do it this weekend at the Belgian microcar rally at westende ...
we'll be glad to talk " live" with other bubblecar's fans.
hope you'll be there !!
-
D-80 ... 31 bubblecars registred yet ... will you be there ???... this full surprises weekend in burgundy is for you ! don't miss it !
-
Dear All
I am planning my travels to and from the BISBI national rally in France this summer, and I have a spare seat if anybody wishes to join me for 5 days min. Traveling on my own is no problem for me, but a friendly English voice makes the time pass more easily (especially if it is female and does not nag).
Depending upon the times and dates I hope to do one or two museums on route.
If anybody wants to join me please email me
Chris Thomas
-
D-70 !!! thank you Chris, our first English fan , welcome in 2008 at our first edition, that was a real support for us to see foreigners to come .
now we are working on our 4th edition ... and do all our best for that unique bubblecars' rally in france to give you the best
trust in our staff, and knows that all the weekend will be surprises and good moments .
32 Bubblecars registerd to day , with some rarities ...
thank you for coming ...or reading the compte -rendus!
-
D-50.... will we see UK friends as you saw french cyclists with our tour de France ???
-
Wot? You want us to cycle to burgundy? ;D
-
And there was me thinking he was bringing the rally to Yorkshire !
-
If you would like to see some French Microcars with their Owners in Yorkshire this year, then you need to be prepared to reciprocate once in a while. You may even enjoy the experience!
I am intending to go this year, and visit the Motobecane museum on the way out, and the Reims motor museum on the way back.
As always there is a spare seat if anybody wants to tag along.
Chris Thomas
-
thank you chris for coming for the second time .
yep : we will be in UK for a rally ... but unfortunately we have only one microcar's club in france ( amicale motocars from claude lebihan )
all other fans are just guys that like it
our event is a challenge to invite them to participate at " their" rally .... it's a challenge for us each year before the event !
jacotte and i were at Dwarc belgian rally in april, Wohlen CH rally week after ..... i sent infos to friends, FB page ... but we were alone ! it's possible i didn't talk about their rallies like they could have talk themselves better ??!!
i have also a job that keeps me out of personnal events ..
today 40 bubblecars registred with ( as each time ) some rarities ...
you're still welcome friends 6;o)
-
Dear Jean Do
Please spread the word to all your French Microcar friends that we welcome them to both the Hammond Collection Open day on 27 July 2014 and the National microcar rally 12-14 September in Yorkshire, where the Tour De France started!!!
Dear Rumsters
For those that like rallies where there is a lot of driving the Bisbi rally will be of interest, on the Saturday the run will be about 95 miles (or over 100 if you get lost) and on the Sunday it will be about 50 miles. So a well maintained vehicle will be needed along with a good navigator.
For those that stay at home I will be doing an article in the winter issue of Rumcar News.

wowowoow !! nobody will get lost !!! .... about 10 friends from the staff in " city cars" all spread in the convoy .... and sign darts on the side roads nailed on thursday !!! ...add the road book map ...hollydays ....
NO WORRY !! ^^
-
Dear Jean Do
For some British drivers, getting lost is more interesting and they have stories to tell their friends after.
Following the car in front is too easy.
Chris Thomas
-
Well funny you should say that Chris, becoming separated from the crowd on long rural runs driving a vintage microcar is one of my worries. You need the support of your friends when you break down. No matter how well fettled your car is, these things happen but by the sound of it Jean do has thought of everything! I just wish I was going.
-
I just wish I had a car that was going :)
-
no worries friends ... our event is based over 30 years of experiences beeing participant member .... and 10 beeing on the other side , professional with my workshop on nats or inter events ... all that was seen bad has not been selected .. all that looked good, was ... and all i imagined better for you, added !!! you won't get lost ....because of road boook and darts ; you won't drive " sausages road train" ...
you will be in hollyday trip .... and we'll be there as angels !! ^^
-
"Sausages road train"! Love it!
I like to think of a convoy of microcars as a colourful string of beads.

Dear friends
Jean Do has just posted all the photographs taken at the rally on the following web page.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bubblecars-Scooters-en-Bourgogne-BSB/126327860790181
You will see that there was a lot of eating and wine tasting, in between long drives through the French countryside
They were a nice bunch of microcar owners.
Go and see what you missed.

That looks a lot of fun love the garage and the attendants
-
The old garage is famous in France for being at the top of a long hill on the old main road about half way between Marseille and Paris and all the trucks stopped there. Now that the motorway network has diverted the trucks away from this garage. it has been reopened as a classic car venue, much like the Ace café on the north circular.

Looks like it was a fantastic event. Thanks for posting the link to the pics. What is the beautifuly made silver car?
-
It is a one off, so has no real name. It can be seen in the Michelin museum.
Chris Thomas
-
thank you friends for visiting ..... pics !!! may be you'll be on the 2016's pics !
the alu microcar is a Fargier, built during five years by Albert Fargier ... high quality level for home made car ... Albert Fargier a fitter , create a well made car, full of technic and details that you can't find on a mass production microcar ... powered by a 175 cc AMC 4 strokes engine 4 speeds, it ran without problems all the weekend .
thanks to Stephane Nicolas, director of Michelin adventure museum , for getting it out of museum reserves, and for 2 " hot" days driving !!!
