Looks like a inflated Messerschmitt for me. Maybe homemade, look at the tail!

I think the tattier an battier the better

My fave picture is still the one off the scmidt, that was dreagged out of the river.

When I have been a subscriber to the mainline practical mags, I have always enjoyed the "rust in peace" sections, partly because you may see an interesting car that could be saved but also just to marvel at how far things can rot and still be recognised.

Hi Bob

Can you throw some light on it or is it just a random picture you have found?

Hi John. It is in fact a messerschmitt that has been sliced down the middle and widened by ten centimeters then the roof and door of a goggombile has been grafted in. This was made by someone in Finland. Makes you look twice doesn't it! Have a look at this web site www.autosite.se/mcbil/ourcars.htm  There are other weird things to see like a trailer made from the engine cover of a KR175, the great felber autoroller which I love and one of those funny mini comtesse things.

Hi Bob

I like the Felber, it looks like it could be a first attempt at a Schmit sort of design, same basic shape but lots more straight edges.

And here is another mystery micro car!

This is one of the microcar prototypes developed in Czechosolvakia by the Moravan aircraft company in 1956, others prototypes were developed by the Avia aircraft company all with Jawa 350cc motorcycle engines. If I remember correctly this was for a government project which eventually came to nothing.
There's a very interesting website at http://www.avia350.cz/en_main.html which shows some of the Avia prototypes (including survivors), another picture with this Moravan prototype alongside the Avai version and pages on several other very interesting Czech microcars.

I've attached a pic of the second Moravan prototype
