Post by: Barry on April 11, 2014, 11:41:10 AM
I haven't looked ito this in detail but isn't a 5" tyre OK for Peels?  4ply.

Perhaps it is a 4" X 5 wide?

unfortunately they are the wrong  design because they are not flat tread. they might fit but I wouldn't use the, because they could be dangerous. ;D ;D
I have been searching for the right tires for a long time now.

Depends what your doing with the car. You are assuming all will drive the car they own (cheers, whoops of joy, cheerleaders and kazo band). A problem.

Most 50cc Sans Permis have round section 'scooter' tyres.
I recon that if these are genuine 5" tyres they will be better than nothing but may be an improvement on the originals, which I think you can get for about £200 each :o

£200?

On second thoughts on the basis of constituent parts to make a Peel at a value of £27k the tyres are about right at that value. Even the air in the tyre will be chargeable for its additional density. Rob Dobie should be on an extra Government pension for having Peel dust in his system. Hmm, possible concentrated in the knees. No wonder Manxman had a spare leg.
