That was a quick response chaps!
Thanks Rob but want car tyres not bike in this instance.
Hi Nick, I've seen a lot on German ebay but none of them appear to ship to the uk. I guess I could ask. What are you using on Schmitts these days? Cheers, Bob

Nice people go to Germany and fill their car up with tyres bought over there and bring them back when they are over doing bizz. Either that or you need a bulk order to persuade your 'local' dealer to buy some in as they are not marketed in the UK I believe. Could try Michealdever Tyres. At the right price I will be up for perhaps 5. They seem to be about £40 - £45 a throw. I keep meaning to ask Ian Frankland but he tends to go off piste and suggest a range of mods I do not really want to get into.

Bob,
I bought a set of Heidenau P30 recently and they posted them to France. Although an advert may say " post only within Germany " it's worth asking if they send elsewhere. These tyres are the best you'll find for schmitts, even better than the old Michelins we use to rave about. These look better too.

Thanks Nick. I have asked a couple of German ebayes if they will ship to Blighty. Just have to wait and see now. You would think the MOC would stock them wouldnt you instead of those Deestones.

Could we finance a deal directly with the supplier (to the trade).
What is the requirement - volume?
What would be the lowest price?

MOC mark up would render them to expensive over a self funded RUMcar order. When is a club a business not a club anymore?

I just ordered some from these people http://www.akf-shop.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p3492_tire-4-00---8-P30-NEW-for-Trabbi-trailer.html
They cost 28 Euros each, I bought two tyres and the shipping was 16 Euros, I think thats quite reasonable. Will let you know how I get on.

I got the tyres today. They have a deep tread and a classic looking tread pattern, my only reservation is the wall rigidity, I think they will be great for a single rear wheel but might they be a little too firm on the front? Maybe you dont have to put any air in them! :D :D Has anyone using them any comments about the ride?
-
Hello Bob, On KR200's the original Avon tyres used all round were very firm on the walls, that's why they had 30-35 psi in the rear and only 12-15 on the front. In recent years we're had to increase the front pressures due to the sub standard tyres that have been available. With these Heidenau tyres the lower pressure should be fine. Nick.
