You have stood up and bowed, Stuart. A big golden star for you. It is a Laher, 1961 model. My records show it being Model number 7 LA (Delivery), made by them in either Memphis Tennessee, or as you said Oakland California (two addresses, maybe just their Sales office, or Production plant?). It has a fiberglass cab, with removable fibreglass doors, air spring suspension, 2.5 inch steel frame chassis members, with a GE 2.5 HP electric motor driving the front wheel. The cab tips forward for servicing. I've never seen one, but maybe there is one buried deep in some long forgotten warehouse, factory, or garage.I will put it on my wish list. I also agree with the others, that it doesn't look like something made in America, even though the headlight surround is reminiscent of the early Ford Econolines. Laher did make 25 different models for personel, material handling and golf needs. A long forgotten manufacturer. The world of micros, minis or whatever classification this fits, is truly remarkable.
