Title: Where have all the 875s gone?!
Post by: Daniel Rodd on July 03, 2011, 12:09:38 PM
Hi all,

As some of you might know,i have a secret lust for the Bond 875,having had my fix of actually driving one at a Reliant rally a few weeks ago,and briefly owning a complete but dead mk2,i am now determined more than ever to get hold of one that i can use and press into daily use.
The problem is,they seem to have all gone!or at least, dont go out any more.
Been watching the Bond club dvds that mr cyphus loaned me,and watching the morecambe rally films there were loads of the things, and was great to see them in action on the various driving competitions.
Ive been in the BOC the past year, and there have been no articles, photos or even adverts for them for sale, and NONE were resent at any of this years Bond rallys

Im determined to get one,a mk2 ideally, but aside from a few rotters on ebay, nothing.Have all the ones ive seen on film been scrapped?do their owners not take them out any more?

Any leads or info would be much appreciated, you might even find me hanging up my Reliant keyring for good if i find one,Mr Cornock will probably send me a congratulations card lol lol ;D

I haven't seen any fully restored, MOT'd Mk1 examples come up, but there have been at least a dozen Mk1's on ebay in varying states of decrepitude over the last six months. This one sold in May for £460 and doesn't look as if it needed a great deal of work to finish. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160584450412&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160584450412&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT) Not seen any Mk 2's though.
