I just had a flick through a 1976 edition of Motorcycling Monthly, which i had bought for the Reliant roadtest inside, and found the following in the wanted section:
PEEL P50 AND TRIDENT 50CC 3 WHEELERS
made in isle of man around 1961-64, wanted privately.
Also spares W.H.Y? 63 Pevensey Road,Polegate, Sussex
I wonder who it was/is?

Mr Dobie to the Red Phone!

Someone who shouldn't have sold them. >:( That's when I thought I would start a Peel Club but nobody was interested. :o
Below is a copy of a copy of two adverts I placed in a couple motorcycle magazines in '76. I have the originals somewhere, will have to find them.
Are the pictures the same as in your mag. Dan?
Rob. ;D

I have moved 3 times since that address.

in the ad i have there are no pics, just the words ;D

Hello Bob,
Here is a picture of my original. Do you think we could start a club exclusivley for those who have original copies of your adverts ;D
Obviously no photocopies or scanned images would be accpetable, those owners could form their own club for replicas :o

Bags me member number four of the "PODA" club.... (Peels, Original Dobie Ads)
-
lol, think mine cost a quid off ebay ;D
-
Hello Dan: I didn't realize I had posted 3 adverts, there may have been even more to other magazines?
Hello Grant: Here is a picture of my original. Do you think we could start a club exclusivley for those who have original copies of your adverts
What a great idea :P The copies of my adverts could be even rarer than the Peels themselves! Then there are the master photograph copies of the original negatives. How rare are these? :D
If a PODA Club was started we would have to give a number to the original copies so that the copies of the copies can't be confused with the genuine copies. ;D
Here is a copy of the original 1976 copy of the original negative of that year. ::)

Bob, can you please alocate me an official PODA number for this genuine copy taken from an original photograph from a slide that originated from your negative. Once you have confirmed that its not a copy of a copy and I have a PODA number then I will list it on E-Bay and will be able to retire on the earnings ;)
Perhaps Stuart will rise to the challange and edit the newsletter of PODA ::)

Grant,
Is that a flash from your camera or is it an early snowball on the top of the P50?
Your PODA Club No: will be PODA/2010/1976/P50/0000000001/NOFAKESHERE.COM
I wonder what the Club newsletter should be called?
-
we have our first sighting of a PODA replica! The below picture being a copy of a genuine copy taken from an original photograph from a slide that originated from Bob. So just to clarfy, this copy is not to be confused with any fake copy copies of the copies which very offten ARE confused with the genuine copies. :)

Rob, I hope you are not implying that I merely took a photograph of the genuine copy taken from an original photograph from a slide that originated from your negative. That would make it a fake and totally worthless. Obviously its a snow flake, don't you remember ?
Please give me a PODA number and I can get it listed on E-Bay ;D
-
im guessing that Andy Carter has a scanner? :D
-
Isn't a scanner a lorry?
-
Perhaps Stuart will rise to the challange and edit the newsletter of PODA ::)
But I already do edit it!!! ;D Here's a cover shot of issue three for those who missed it. Subscriptions are exhorbulant, in line with general Peel infation. accept no imitations though, this is the genuine copy of the genuine issue three which itself was a genuine copy of the copy of the genuine isuue two, bassed upon the guenuine orinignal of the copied first copy of the original issue. Grant, Did you mean to say "Obviously it's now a fake"? ???
Your PODA number is PODA/2010/1976/P50/0000000001/NOFAKESHERE.COM
I understand E-bay won't allow fakes to be listed.
If I could remember that far back I would reminisce peelenty. ;D
-
Ooohh, i do love these old Photos of the Peels
-
I understand a cachet of these magazines have been discovered in an electric Peel Trident found in a scrapyard in Begravia.
I intend to sue everybody involved due to misrepresentation.
-
A friend of my cousin's sister's uncle's stepdaughter's ex-husband's dog is "pretty sure" he once heard of a guy who knows someone who imported some of these ads to British Columbia back when they were new. I don't remember the dog's name, though.

Are you sure it's a Trident? I have heard through a friend via 20 other friends and a cat, a pig and a cow called Sue that in a remote shed around my way someone has an electric four wheeled Peel but Sue believes it's called a Quadrant!
Although it could be an electric granny scooter with a large plastic bag over it to keep out all this snow we're having. ;D
Just found these outside of my place. The penguins are inside having a cup of tea.
