Dear Stuart

I was trying to get some information on a Tarun disabled vehicle and instead found this. I thaught you might be interested.

Hi Chris

This looks interesting!  The wheelchair user must access the vehicle through the side of the vehicle rather than the rear (as in the Elswick or the Nippi) because of the single rear wheel.  It looks like the canopy is raised and moved to the rear for access - you can see the mechanism running along the lower side of the vehicle.  I'd like to see it in action!

Dear Nick

Looking at the image it looks to me as if the wheelchair is pushed in from the rear and the vehicle is wide enough for two wheel chairs  or a wheel chair nand a seat, hence the rear wheel in the centre and the high sides. I am sure that there must be a floor lowering mechanism as well by the looks of the angled bars between the floor and the side skirts.

It all looks a little Heaf Wobbinson, but interesting.

Hi Chris

Hmm, you could be right, looking at the width of the vehicle and there's also some sort of ramp arrangement to the side of the rear wheel.  If I wasn't heady with the scent of a Mini Comtesse Break in my nostrils I'd be dribbling at the thought of this in my garage.
