Title: Heartbeat Isetta? I thought Jim Hackings one was?
Post by: Bob Purton on March 26, 2010, 07:45:56 pm
Will the real Heartbeat Isetta please stand up! Were two different cars used?

Interesting auction  :D

I found some pictures of the Heartbeat Isetta on this very interesting website (XAM 115):
http://imcdb.org/vehicle_185362-Isetta-300-1960.html

Regarding to his website, Jim Hacking is the current owner of exactly this car. He wrote that there was another Isetta used for the later episodes. So maybe the ebay car is this second Isetta  ???

Yes I read that too. Just wondered if anyone else had any info on the auction car? The seller said google the registration number for proof of it being the heartbeat car, I did that and found nothing, I don't want to be first to shout scam but is there provenance for this car?

Looks like the tomfoolery has already started, check the "don't under sell this car mate" message, as if a bog standard Isetta is ever going to make £20,000. Someone is seriously getting there wires crossed.

If it is the Heartbeat car it will have electronic ignition pacemaker and sound like the big ends gone at 72 odd revs per minute. There are many fake film star cars about. My mate has specialised in doing them and done really rather well out of it, particularly supplying museums as they are not always particular where the cars come from. I like him as he is not very Micro orintated and outs them to me.
