Always fancied one of these but the 'cabrio' version looks pretty challanged. Same old problem with lecky cars, no usable range if you live out in the country. I have come close a few times but I need a cheap one so I can convert it to more usable motive power!

When I see these I always think of a Sinclair C5 on steroids!

There used to be a teacher (Harold Marflett? Marfleet?) who converted City-els to diesel power using, I think, a Robin industrial unit. He and his school entered them in the Shell Mileage Marathons and recorded some amazing mpg figures.
Maybe someone on the Forum can steer us towards video clips etc?

Harold Marflett wrote about the Shell Milage Marathon in RUMCAR NEWS No.40 Spring 1994 which I am afraid is out of print now but some of you may have a copy. Jean

I've got a Mini El, but this has a 200cc Diesel Yanmar engine fitted.
This does have a Shell Challange sticker on the front.
