believe even the americans had joined the war by 1942 ! Dec 1941 i believe , so not exactly pre-war

I rather like these, though talking of Crosley's is the silver car captured by Jim an early attempt by them to produce a three wheeler? It seemed to be parked with the others.

The silver car is a 1937 Crosley CRAD prototype produced 2 years before the Crosley actually went into production.
(according the card on the windscreen)

seems Crosley was simply trying to eliminate a differential by using 3 wheels rather than 4 but found the configuration to be to unstable.
