Now this is more like it: http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/159263463.htm?ca=12_s
Can't quite read the bonnet badge, info identifies the make as 'Raster' but looks like it begins with a 'B'
-
Now that I do like! Its like a three wheeled version of the Mochet roadster. Are you going to make an offer young Blob?
-
I figured you'd like the vent rings Bob. So what's the green car behind it? I was thinking it's the front of a Solyto.
-
The vendor says it is a 125cm³ Sabb enigne,
and sais it was made in 1955 -
cannot find anything about Raster anywhere
but surely like the design.
Did anyone make an offer?
-
Slightly basic metalwork, but I really like it! If you drove up to Brixton in that you would get hundreds of people asking you what make it is. When you reply, they will assume you said "Rasta". You would get a lot of people there wanting to buy it off you just for the name!

the way i read it it doesnt say its Raster any more than an isetta, mochet, rovin or vespa . these names are just used to catch the eye . its of interest to people searching for that type of vehicle . we are still in the dark about raster but it worked , it was found and it is of interest . nice one

The body is from made from some impregnated lined cardboard if my French is good enough - on the more detailled pictures just received, the body looks much worse than in the leboncoin ad...
Anybody has any data on Raster or these Sabb engines? Found Sabb marine but nothing else...
-
Sabb appears to be Société Anonyme BriBan, who made agricultural tractors, not sure if that could be the badge on the nose as well?

hi friends, saab was Bribant moped engines under license .
about the raster , our " motocar's pope" knew it in its first auction, and don't seems still interessed at this time ...is there a problem with it ??? is the offer ( still avialable in the seller's mind ) not reallistic ??
however it is a nice prototype , with mochet vintage style ... the last prototype with this style ,finished at BW museum !...

good luck ! and lucky you are as it's located in north of france !...

Jean-do's photo looks like it is in the Weiner collection? The styling there is more sophisticated and professional, but I do like the down-to-earth simplicity of the first one. I doubt the original engine is worth getting excited about though.

'Raster Raggy!'
'Like Wow, Scoob your a SABB'.
Pretty machine.

Wouldn't mind seeing the more detailed pics, just had a thought maybe the body shell was the initial stage in the design process and never intended as the final product, but then maybe it's just an experimental form of glass fibre.

Does anybody have an idea how much the seller is asking for it? Does he have any old documents? :P

He only asks to offer. He does have paperwork, the carte grise.

Hi Jean-Do,
My car restored that car a few years ago. The engine was seized, and my dad couldn't fix it.

I have just looked up a bit about the rastert, and found another nice pic, here it is: http://s2.e-monsite.com/2010/05/24/06/resize_550_550/IMG_0339.jpg
The owner has a site, which is where I found the pic. He seems to have a ice collection! http://microcar.e-monsite.com/
The owner also has a car called the " pussycar ". I hope it wasn't made in England!

Thanks Jonathan, great link! Well he's obviously no fool so bet your bottom dollar it ain't cheap! Probably trying to figure out values by getting some offers from eager punters.

I have bought vehicles before from this chap and he tells me his best offer so far is 3,000€ . Not bad, but above my league. I did not even realize that it was he selling it, until I received an e-mail today from him on another matter and he mentioned the Raster.

The Raster is now on eBay so will we finally get to see what the reserve was? http://cgi.ebay.fr/MICROCAR-RASTER-GENRE-MESSERSCHMITT-ISETTA-MOCHET-/250784279988?pt=FR_JG_Auto_Pièces_Automobiles_Test&hash=item3a63e86db4
