Now then, who owns the Bond name. Is it Reliant? Even they seem to have disappeared.  ???

Jonathan Heynes who ran reliant from 1996-c.1998 is now trading under the name of Bond cars ltd(or at least did) importing microcars.

Reliant only exist as a parts supplier(and the general rule is they are the last place to go to for Reliant parts)

in the good old days before VOSA ,BIVA,SVA ,MSVA etc etc, it was common practice to build a car and use whatever logbook you had laying around, i have personally known a number of vehicles that were clearly not what it said on the logbook, it was a loophole and an easy way to build a one off, sadly it is no more. big brother rules and the freedom to build/drive whatever you desire is fast being supressed. there will come a day, more than likely in my lifetime, when a classic/hotrod/micro/kit/special, will have sanctions forced upon it, brussels are already planning limited mileage allowances for older vehicles, and already it is illegal to modify any chassis without it having an SVA or BIVA test, basically  the euraprats want us all to drive a prius or some hybrid shopping trolley with no character ,all drive at 30 mph and fall into line like good little sheep. the future my friends is bleak, the internal combustion engine is becoming the devils work and unless we all go and make love to a tree the planet is doomed, till that happens ,the reich will continue to stifle freedom of expression and push forward more tests, laws and beurocracy. that leaves us ,who have a penchant for old/unusual vehicles, firmly up sh*t creek without an environmentally friendly paddle made from recycled do-gooders. as for the "bond" in the ad, good luck to the guy, unfortunately he will very likely get a visit from VOSA , as they DO  keep an eye on forums and the like, just another tool in big brothers arsenal. happy motoring! >:(

Sadly I think that summary of the future is pretty much correct. Being 'different' only ever gets more difficult and I suspect will become the preserve of those who can afford it. I do not believe in the New World order stuff but there is no doubt that the very wealthy and corporate entities now run the show pretty much unopposed and this latest world crisis does nothing to aid a fair society despite folks running about fighting etc. As such the general population are a resource to be managed and squeezed. Awkward types are not wanted and will be legislated out of existence. I am glad I will be gone before the worst of it as once energy gets to a certain price and the population to a certain level just about everything will be chargeable and mobility very much more difficult. MIcrocars etc. will be expensive toys and as much use as a gig or cart.

As to the little car it suffers puff bottom syndrome like the otherwise gorgeous modern Jaguar. Might be trendy, all this gay sort of activity, but I am traditional enough to find the associated styling clues a turn off, thanks. Get that rear ride height down!
Bond, is it? Maybe the guy who made it was called Bond? Who can tell what has gone on without looking at the evidence.
How far is this car going to be driven? Its debatable if it is worth getting upset as it is using a name not pretending to be something other than it is like a fake Bugatti or something (dare not mention the P word). I have several old 'cars', which as pointed out, use an existing old car ID but have subsequently been modified over the years. The Trials car started life as a Ford Pop. As it stands it has only Ford chassis and front suspension but most of that is Bellamy. Without its original ID which just say Ford Sports it would be very hard to put on the road now. As for the Alvis Special, well the special thing about it is it is not an Alvis! And no you have not seen it Root, it lives in the dark, deep storage of a shed not visited in a long time. It is also a pile of crap but that is my problem.
