i have always read that herr bruetsch moved on from fibreglass cars to other projects , in particular pre-fab housing . recently i found pics on the net :
PLASTIC BALL HOME
The developement of egon bruetsch's 1960 plastic ball house. over a footprint of only 13m the structure is designed as garden arbor or mini-cottage. the vertical structured shell consists of an outer layer of fibre re-inforced polyester, an insulation made of polystyrene and polyeurathene foam and a textile fabric on the inside .

by the way publicity photo's as usual feature herr bruetsch with his mistress , the reason i believe why the bruetsch family don't discuss egon !!

What a fantastic magazine Popular mechanics was, 314 pages of articles, drawings and photographs, and fantastic adverts. like "Build your own jet engine for your jet propelled bicycle (page 292).

They had a Nobel article once (well, probavbly a few times!) and this one was about building a kit... My dad never puts his maximum bid in the beginning, he usuaally waits till the end of the auction, and it ended at about 5 pounds... Shame, I would have loved it.
I find its best to put your maximum price in the beginning, since thehn you dont risk missing it, and you dont kick yourself for wanting to pauy more.

Love the title to this thread. Was Egon Brütsch's 'other project' the plastic ball home or the gearless single seater or perhaps ... his mistress? You've kept it nicely ambiguous.
-
i always heard he made a success of pre-fab houses having seen them i rather doubt it :)
-
I remember talking to Heiner Placke about the Brütsch "Kugelhaus" back in 2003 . He told me that he was searching for this houses over years, but was not able to figure out whether one still exist or not. Looks like it's much simple to get a Brütsch car then a Brütsch House - unless Andy startes to build them...

and maybe as useless ? :D
