Title: 4 " headlamps wipac

i once asked what size and type headlamps for a peel trident, not that i have one , i never got a reasonable reply. are these anything like or wrong diameter/ too deep/ wrong fitting ?

Are you thinking of a Replica then  ;).  Yes, these are the correct type of lamp but these are the Spotlight version and therefore have the wrong mountings.
Manufactured well into the late 80s in the style with different lenses, they still turn up often in new condition
