Title: Poirier Threewheeler
Post by: wilksie on February 23, 2013, 09:01:58 pm
I missed this unusual three wheeler when the auction was 'live'. For sale in the Netherlands was a Poirier of about 1946 from France. Has anyone else ever seen one?

Love the 'dickie seat' for the wife.

Richard seat as of a few weeks ago, Wilksie!

Horrid? I begin to wonder if you did not suffer a traumatizing experience when you were a young pram mounted ankle biter, Bob. There seems to be a thread of pramesque dislike of vehicles and associated helplessness. I would blame Wurther's Originals if they actually were not replica sweeties valued as the real thing, damned GRP sweets. Perhaps I could point you towards to many Callard and Bowser Cream Lined Toffees instead?

Well you may have a point Al. I was a nervous child, my mother had to feed me soft spearmint toffees to get me to the clinic for my weekly verruca trimming treatment. I dont remember falling out of any prams or ugly three wheeled conveyances though. Wish I could find out if those toffees were still available .

Crumbago. I remember spearment toffees, too. No brand name registers, though, unless Murrays?

Big Al, I don't think it was an experience in a pram but falling off a moped into some cabbages that did it! ;D

Off topic is fine for some things but let's face it old sweeties are such a recurrent thread perhaps it should have a regular spot  :D whilst on that subject when did we last hear from rob dobie - ages ago , I do hope he is keeping the faith

A new name to me and a bit IC like but eccentric enough for me to quite like it. In fact when I get even older and grumpier (if that is possible) it looks to me the ideal vehicle for driving along pavements and growling at any pedestrians in my way!
Spearmint toffees eh? perhaps Sharps or Trebor? I used tio like Olde English Spangles. Army and Navy/Throat and Chest boiled sweets are current faves, proper sweets. out of big clear jars.

Wonderful semi-gothic beast, but I'm sure it was listed for sale on that site even before this thread was last updated in 2013!
