very comprehensive , thanks bob i will have to get my rule out

I had a traditional Lincon battery for my Morris Isis and I still have it after about 25 years (dead as a dodo).

Lincon are just down the road from where I lived and if they haven't changed in 25 years I would definitely recommend them.
I doubt they will be very cheap but if you already have a rubber battery with terminals they can put new guts in it for you and save some money..

I have heard that you can use the old case and terminals over the top of a modern battery?

£68 inc VAT and postage here I think:-

I've just bought a leisure battery for my camper and one for my portable power pack from a company I encountered at the Stafford Classic Bike Show in April.  Their knowledge, range and pricing impressed me (but, as some of you know, I have a low threshhold of satisfaction so don't set too much store by that!) so it might be worth giving BOM Batteries a call on 01427 753652.
 They're in Haxey, near Doncaster.
