Spotted this strange looking machine, listed as a 1930's Ariel prototype item: 300090774436

Yes blob, it looks very strange. If you go and compare the wheel size with the bodyshell, it looks like a self construction for me.

Looks like you're right Peelpower, even Tony Marshell's been questioning the originality of this one, more info presented by the vendor states it's a homebuild, rarther than a rarity.

Great looking little tractor for the smallholding/orchard  ;D
