Title: Interesting Trojan?
Post by: milnes on April 26, 2014, 09:37:15 am
A Trojan for sale on E-bay with an interesting past. Is this tone paintwork an original spec?

Good to see an original handbrake in use. But over the top for my liking. Great original style Trojan optional extra boot rack. Still have some left in chrome somewhere. Number looks vaguely familiar.

That number plate is an age related one I think, which suggests the original one has been sold.  I believe the car is on the Register, one of the many with an unknown owner now, but without a chassis number this cannot be checked.  Jean

If it is the one I think it was then Stuart might have a numberplate for it out of my chuck outs. But then as an age related series there are a lot of them about! There is a tendency to lift plates prior to export, for sure. Personally I think we have a daft system where you can sell a cars history but its a product of the State renting registrations and not providing a system to monitor ownership. They would not be needing all the club agencies to tell them what is going on then. Indeed in one way RUM would not be needed, though the more enlightened part probably would still have come to light in some form. Indeed did that not come first, I forget.

BSK TO YSK allocated to various VRO'S for age related marks between3/90 and3/92 so either it lost its registration or was unobtainable through lack of documentary evidence so it must have had this number allocated under Weiners ownership as he sold it in 1997
Chassis number in catalogue is 8156
I presume I have the right car as it shown as sold at £18400

That might be right:

£18,400  bid price
£02,760  commission, at 15%
£00,483  VAT on the commission (at 17.5% in 1997)

£21,643

Originally registered as 912BTR and removed in 1990. 912BTR is now on a 2003 Renault Master  :(
