Well I read every page of RCN so must have read about it but it is always nice to actually see such an ad!
-
The YT film which follows the Kit Kat ad.....

includes an interesting small truck towing a trailer at the Rowntrees factory; perhaps comparable to a Scammell Mechanical Horse or Scarab. Anyone know what it is?
-
I'm fairly certain its a French Latil TL.

Strange - you would think it more likely now as owned by Nestle aren't they
-
Apparently Latil had a factory in London in the 1920s.
-
Many thanks Malcolm.
The original Scammell Mechanical Horse (fore-runner of the Scarab) was also produced in France based on Citroen parts.

^ That's the one! Ironically, I believe the French version was rather better than the British one.
Still not as stylish as the Scarab or later Townsman though.
Almost "On Topic" because they are "Micro" trucks, and Scarab and Townsman were 3 wheelers! I recall an Italian truck very much like the Scarab too.
Going back to the ad, I have always wondered how I came to know about Heinkel and Messerschmitt bubble cars, perhaps I saw this ad when I was a boy.
