This company were listed as sole Concessionaires of The Range of Frisky Motorcar Construction Kits - was it usual to build your own ? - it appears so now ! ;D
-
I know some cars were as I have some period photos of one being built, although some of the shots (spraying the body) look a little staged. Will have to dig them out.

In July 1959 Frisky Cars Ltd went into receivership and their assets, bodies jigs etc sold in September to Mr Wright who set up Frisky Cars (1959) Ltd. He started production of the Frisky Family Three Mark 2 in the following January 1960 (That car having been designed and built by Bedson and Peckmore at Meadows early in 1959.)
All did not go well and towards the end of 1960 Mr Wright was negotiating the sale of Frisky to Petbow Ltd which went ahead in Jan 1961. In the meanwhile selling some of their stocks to Middlesbrough must have looked like a good idea to recoup some of their investment.
The " Build yourself a Frisky" advertisement you show along with a few others dates around Oct 1960 but was short lived. Eventually Petbow Ltd sold most of their spare stocks about eighteen months later to Frisky Spares and Services Ltd (a boat yard) who would put together a Frisky for you or sell you a "kit". This wasn't a roaring success but the fire on the beach at Queenborough when they burnt all the remaining bodies was!!!
