Hi Bob, It is nice to read on the  other microcar  forum that  your Unique Microcar, the Bobette, has now been fully road tested, legal and causing lots of interest at local events. I do hope too it is firmly on the Register of Unusual Microcars as one of our very 'specials'. I am sad that it is not getting much publicity here  on the Rum Forum, for that matter nothing is getting publicity on our Forum these days. I did so hope that this would not happen but it does seem that divided we fall! I am afraid my loyality remains with RUMCARS as would be expected.  Jean

... I'm still very much a Rumcars man but with this project I'm learning, having fun and not subject to the dictatorship of someone the other side of the World.

Excuse me Bob?  Could you please clarify that statement?
I believe you are referring to me.

I have never understood this gripe that Bob has . I have never been aware of any Big Brother brooding overseer , perhaps I am just too simple . I personally am very grateful for the forum and therefore all of Jims efforts , with NO reservations  :)

Without Jim we would not have a Rumcar Forum. It would have been destroyed by hackers long ago. Keep up the good work Jim

I might just add that as I posted this topic , of Jims video, it comes a bit rich for anyone to highjack my topic to criticise Jim !! Please not on here !

Where's my original Stoery 2002 posting gone now then ????????

Its there just look further down the list.

Now I'm confused.

When I look at a thread, I go "older" by looking UP the list!  "Recents" goes downwards for older, but only as far back as August the 7th, when this thread clearly started on or before the 2nd.

And this thread doesn't contain, or start with, however far down or up, a posting from Richard about Stoery.

However ... the title suggests that this thread was split at some point, and I did find Richard's mention of the Stoery video on http://www.rumcars.org/forum/index.php?topic=5048.msg41799#msg41799 which is entitled "Stoery Kleinwagentreffen 2002"    Is that what you meant, Richard?

No matter I found the topic again but it had been higher up as it had more recent responses , I guess once it was retrospectively split that made sense  ;)all is fine in my world again  :)

I bought a Topic yesterday. Put it in my pocket and on the way home I fell over and split it. Still tasted good though.

Banana split? ???

Ah, we have regained a recognisable topic here, after diffusion on the topic of diffusion. Not, I suspect an Old Banana Split, then.

I agree guys. Might be missing something, but I see little ground to base having a competing forum on the basis of what Jim has done wrong. Ever was the case that doing your task right, well and quietly, was to invite a slap in the face. That is why I left employment to work for myself, as I ever found folks did this to me. Jim offers quiet motivation to enthusiasts here by keeping the pitch clean and level to play on. If you look round the web he pops up intelligently in many other places. Unlike myself he generally keeps his own council, no practising oratory in the mirror or waving arms about.

This all goes back to RUMcar voting strongly to have freedom of information on publicly advertised machinery, after serious bullying of a young lad who only wanted to learn how to join in what might have been his hobby, does it not? I tried hard to get him to come back privately, but he was deeply wounded by his treatment, and we loose just what the cars need, younger interested folk. Not an isolated case either. Jim applied the required response, I feel, in a very measured way. But it was with the backing of a majority.

It's unwise to believe you can police the internet, by it's very nature it is open and democratic.

If individuals wish to create their own sandpit to play in, don't worry about it, better to concentrate on making your own area a pleasant place to dwell.
