Bajaj Triporteur
« on: September 13, 2007, 09:38:27 pm »
I was surfing the net , looking for an image of a Bajaj Triporteur, as you do, and came upon this web site which some of you may have seen before.

http://asiantriporteurs.wordpress.com/

There are some wonderful examples of asian improvisation, and knowing the condition of the roads, and lack of them, it is amazing that they are still working.

Well worth a look.

I am still none the wiser about what exactly a Bajaj Triporteur is. Is it a make, or a generic type of vehicle?

Good grief ! Amonst that lot is a 2 person Drum Car" ! Still, I think I can safely say that I am still the first and only one to make a Drum Car that I drive fully in control while playing with both arms and both legs ( 3 footpedals). I am waiting for some sad american to feel the need to go one better, but I will always be the first!

Marcus - do you have a foto of your drum car? I'd like to see it

Insight - I'm happy to see that google is linking to my sites effectively. Out of interest can you remember what search terms you entered into google to end up at that site?

'triporteur' is a generic term used in France for all 3-wheelers, but i use it because it's more descriptive and has a much nicer ring about it than '3-wheeler'
