How sad. What can you say. Rest in Peace.
It was a pleasure to have owned two of his models.

Truly the end of an era.  I corresponded with but never met Cyril Cannell in person and now sadly I shall never have that opportunity.  I did not realuse that he came from Essex which of course was my original stamping ground.  May Cyril rest in peace whilst the legend of the Peel cars lives on.  Jean

Indeed, what can one say! The man who built possibly the most (in)famous cars in all of bubbledom. I'm proud to belive that I actully passed within a yard of him on Peel Harbourside on the Sunday of the Peel Rally. I didn't reconise the gent who said a passing "hello" to me on spotting my nametag with the Peel logo on it until weeks later when watching the C4 "Small Wonders" programme, but if that was not Cyril Cannall that day, I'll eat my hat!

To the crowd, an appeal. Lets keep this particular Peel topic to being a celibration of the man, rather than decending into stand-up arguing & sniping over trivial detail like so many times before whenever Peels are mentioned.....

I would hope that it was very satisfying and rewarding for him to realize that most all of the cars he created back in the day are still around and appreciated.
That is quite an impressive feat.

Peel Engineering had to have made other things as well, but how many of the other items they created and manufactured survive to this day?

Very upsetting.  I never got the chance to meet him on the IoM at Peels to Peel.

A very private gent by all accounts.

His machines live on and I for one will always adore his/my 49cc oddities..
