Both meanings are equally true !

While I was proto-typing some of my inventions at South London Innovation Centre (now sadly gone) there was a fellow there who was making a model of his folding car. Its framework/chassis was a pantograph, like one of those old zig zag fold down clothes dryers. Hmmm, very complex and extremely rickety, not a design I would want to travel in
