Ideal for those who demand a Peel version of a Bond Bug! There will be interest in certain dwellings on the result of this sale.

I have been looking at my collection/stock list and there is no two ways about it. I have more work than I can ever do so 25 cars must go. These will mainly be big cars, partly due to storage, and I am now confirmed as a Micronaut for some considerable period after considering giving it up but for the Schmitts and a Dart. Sadly it means I really should not buy anything more, or if I do a discard needs to be put out to make space or balance the work level to that which it is now. A Karma car collection of sorts.

For the proper engine, anyone interested should start looking for a Motobécane VO 14 (as fitted to the 99Z).

Hi BLOB.

I am the the person with the Comtessa on ebay at the moment. I take it you don't understand the English language that well.

RARE is a word for something not seen that much, not many made of, not usually in your country.   The comment you made about my auction that I was saying the comtessa is rare I don't understand??

I was not trying to rip people off, but on doing some more research I have only found two more at the MOMENT in the U.K. one at stand on transport museum and another at a private collection in Kent.

Where at the moment is there another vehicle like this advertised on the internet, or autotrader mags??

You don't see them that much in France, where they really use micro cars, my father found it in a run down shed, it had been there for 20 years, still RARE in France as they were on;y produced for 7 years, from 1973 to 1980.  NOT RARE THOUGH.

I wonder sometimes why people have to be so anal about what is written on their ebay auctions, we did not really know what it was, but from further research we do now.  Some people obviously have too much time on their hands, to find things and be the first to put them on forums.

I have taken time from my busy life to have a go, because its probably RARE for the seller  to register and to have a go back.

thank you most RARELY comtessa owner..

Allegro Estates are RARE.   ::)

Long deep breaths dear boy.  This is a micro forum.  Rare's relative here....

As the RUM resident Mini Comtesse owner, as far as I know, there are now five Mini-Comtesse's like mine in the UK & somewhere in the region of a dozen or so of the "normal" looking four-wheelers. I hadn't heard of any of the mid range three-wheelers being over here until this one currently in subject turned up. I'd certainly call it rare over here and a couple of years ago would have bought it like a shot to go with KAU 724N.  :)

Mind you, eagle-eyed viewers or RCN & the bootom line of these forum posts may have noticed a certain absence of the Mini-Comtesse from my fleet list. Yes, it's true, it has now moved on to pastures new into the capible hands of Ian Hellings as part of a reshuffle which also saw the Argson depart for parstures new. What's their replacement? Wait & see.  ;)  It's only a matter of time....   :)

You seem to be of the opinion I’m slating your ad in some way; though had you read my post in the context it’s written, you'd notice I've praised the fact it's in the UK! However as you’ve explained, the term ‘rare’ has many interpretations, like many others on this forum, production number determines mine.

As Blob just illustrated , they do come up for sale on a fairly regular basis on the continent. There are more in the UK than one might imagine as well, I was standing in a garage in Suffolk not a million miles from Ipswich just last December looking at one in fact. As P50 said, rare is relative , all microcars are rare but on a forum specialising in UNUSUAL microcars these are not rare in the same sense as a laymen would see it. What Andy doesn't realise is that Blob has done him a favour, he always flags up cars for sale that the rest of us didn't see thus increasing awareness and potentially increasing the sale price. In fairness to Andy though , if I had advertised this I would have said rare too! ;)

And the same eagle eyed viewers will see I now have one but that I am not Ian Hellings, which will relieve Ian a lot. Pity Root has flogged his as we could have had races round the Bampton Castle Comtesse Raceway as both these cars are/were registered. Chicken. So it's goodbye from him and hello from me! Both these are the five wheeled version, though the Root car has lost its casters. I think it is this addition and the fact it is the second? smallest production car that marks it out as a real collectors item in the book of weirdo cars. That has nothing to do with being rare really. A prediction is that the car on eBay might well head to Tyne and Wear, where the tinned pies come from in an lateral universe, and appear as a Walker production.

Are these Comtesse more common that Peel then?

Just so. A common rarity as oppose to a rarity often for sale. The rare thing is to find an original one in working order with a V5. A good proportion of those coming up seem to be injured in some way. Thus to an extent price is dependant on the buyer's confidence, missplaced or otherwise, in his ability to make it back into a car, preferably to original spec if value is to be the arbiter, or as a modified useless car instead of a totally useless car. It all makes sense when you know.
