Hello all,
When I got my racing mower (for free) it had a damaged cylinder (scored inside, making it burn oil after each turn of the crank).
That seems to be the last "big" problem. My dad then said I can use a spare plain villiers engine (no gearbox, literally just crank, top, dynatart!).
I have started stripping one down, rebuilt the carb (just needs a couple of parts I will have to look for), and was wondering what sort of modifications I could do to "tune" the engine up.
Its a 197cc, but my dad said if it all works fine, I can swap the top for 250. I polished some of the inside of the carb, I heard it lets fuel in better. One mod my dad told me was ptting the piston fully up, and filing any of the piston you can see through the fuel intake of the cylinder, sometimes 1mm of the piston covering the hole, so filing it will let fuel in better).
Any other suggestions? I'm tight on money, I prefer doing mods that take time instead of money, but don't mind spending a bit.
Thanks, JP
