Nobel Vinyl
« on: July 24, 2012, 11:00:44 am »
Hello all,

I have finally found a source for Nobel vinyl.

It is a 110% match (that's how good it is!). However, it comes from America.

If anyone is interested, please message me, we need to get a few cars worth to make the postage worth it!

Didn;t realise you had a Nobel! (well, it depends who you are, can;'t tell by username!)

The sample I have recieved is the perfect vinyl. The colour was a bit different, but they said they make the vinyl themselves, and if I send a sample they can perfectly colour match it, even in small orders.

Attached is a scan next to my original.

Jonathan, I assume that you are in contact with Mike Ayriss about your find because he may well be able to drum up some customers for you.  Jean

Or Nobels could turn green under white to match the interiors. Hmm, perhaps not.

Alan, The greener sample in the photo is the original, not the blueish one. I must say that having seen the new sample from America the material they use is the same as original and of excellent quality and the patern is spot on. If they can tint the colour like they say they can, we are onto a perfect match.   At last some proper stuff.                     Nick.

I might need a few cars worth too.  But since I am in Los Angeles will not be needing to share the postage.
Where is it that they are coming from?  I'll be happy to assist in any way I can.
Now for sources of door and windscreen rubbers.  Any leads on these?

Bizarre. I recall the interior as blue. Memory is playing tricks again. Then again it shows the benefit of having an original sample to hand. So many of these trimming materials are actually far more complex patterns when you look at them analytically. Don't get into Tartan! I still recall Ari in Oxford trying to buy Tartan material from a guy selling 'Doodlebags' - Bagpipes to us. Be handy if you can get hold of or borrow a pantone swatch book so as to fix the colours for communications as well as having a sample. Should remove any arguments from buyers and manufacturers. Wonder what it would look like in a Schmitt?

Hello Alan,
The correct material looks greenish next to the other samples, but when you see it on it's own it looks different.  I have a complete original rear seat in my Nobel that I'm sure is unfaded and it's the same as Jonathan's sample. Talking of Nobels, Ant has just driven our Nobel for the first time. We are having a car meeting tomorrow nearby and she might take it.                Nick.

The French RUMcar meeting? I thought she liked Goggos but then why not use the Nobel if it is hale and hearty. All good fun.
