Tourette Photo on A-Z
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:10:10 AM »
Found a photo on Elvis' A-Z site, see   http://www.3wheelers.com/tourette.html

Does anybody know a Bob Gale, shown as an old owner of the vehicle? Was he the chap who bought it down to me at Polegate in 1976 and swapped it for my old Panther 100 combination instead of me giving him £75? The photo shows the car in its newly restored state sitting in a yard opposite my new, then home in Lower Dicker, East Sussex just before MalcolmThomas loaded it on his trailer to be delivered to Malcolm Goldsworthy in Kent. It has lately been sold at a Coy's auction.

This photo showing it being trailered is so bad because it was taken on an old box camera. Something I used to do in the seventies.

PS Just noticed that the year of the car shown is 1956. This is wrong as it was made and registered in 1957. The front hubs/brakes etc. are Messerschmitt, date stamped 1957.

I can tweak the photo a bit but it would be better if I could have a high res scan.

Sorry, no can do a higher res. scan. Copied on to my computer ages ago with other pics before chucking them out.  May have the negs somewhere. Anyone know somebody who can get pictures printed from 120, 620, 110, 126 and 127 negs.? Have loads of B&W and colour negs around somewhere.

Ask instore at Jessops if you have one local as it used to be one of the services they could offer even though they had to send them away for processing. Otherwise these guys look promising and even offer a free trial: http://www.exposure22.com/index.php. If you've got hundreds of negs, probably cheaper to invest in a film scanner. Whatever you do though, don't throw the negatives away!

Dear Rob

I have a film scanner, but I am not sure if it will handle 120 size film. Never tried. How about sendinging me one of each film size so I can try.

Hi Malcolm P.,
Many thanks for your reply regarding copying of old negs. Exposure22 looks like the people I need as I have around a thousand odd negs. in unusual sizes, some going back to the 1930s when my Mum and Dad used to muck about with the old Box Brownie! Just got to find them in the loft and sort them out on the light box. Many Thanks. Rob D.

Hi Chris, Thanks for your offer but I had a small scanner that cost over £80 but it only took 35mm film and the scanning wasn't up to much, thought it would do 120 negs. etc. Disappointed with quality so got rid of it to some poor bod on eBay. Rob.
