When I bought my Peel back to life in '76 the interior spotted paintwork as used on the walls of public toilets was unobtainable. As the GRP was breaking down I brushed on two gel coats to stabilize it. As you can imagine the smell was something out of this world, as I was at the time! "Peace brother and all that"
When it was dry i didn't bother to wash with acetone or anything else as I can remember, just gave it two coats of Dulux gloss grey. I looked as if it stood the test of time, 36 years, when it came up for sale at Coy's auction last year.
