Surprise in the post
« on: May 29, 2015, 03:52:32 pm »
I had a nice surprise in the post this morning. The science museum professor that I have recently been working for came across this collectors card of the Tourette propotype and sent me it as a gift.
According to the text on the reverse I own a "sports car"!
Does anyone know anything about these cards? There are no clues on the card as to who produced them.

Bobby Bobby Bobby ! Dear me ! You are well acquainted with the series of cards in fact I suggest you are very familiar with one other image and look upon it almost daily . German I think they produced several, 4 or 5, volumes of these pocket books . Sports cars, racing cars , vintage cars etc. someone like mike would surely have the set- they do appear on eBay singly and in sets but I can picture them and can't put a name to the publisher at present . This is one page from the sports car volume , as with all postcard type books they are hard to find complete as pages fall out or are removed

Same image as the one on ebay Richard but not the same card. Mine has header title and date plus different back. As I said, no clues as to who produce them.

I did say that Bob . Yours are from that set of books I have forgotten the name of . What about that image that you see on a daily basis ? Not much of a riddle but let's have the answer

Hi Bob
In the UK these cards were published by the Sunday Times in a series of 20 little booklets. The illustrations are by Piet Olyslager.
