Hi Jamie.  I'm no expert on Peels but does your car have another seperate ignition coil outside of the flywheel or does the HT [sparkplug] lead come straight out of the engine and onto the plug?

Looking at the coils you show, the first one looks like the type that feeds an outside coil , the second is a flywheel magneto coil that feeds the spark plug direct.

It dose have a external coil in the car, so it dose have a external HT lead from the coil to the spark plug. ;)

Then I would say its the first one as you suggested. Make sure its not a lighting coil though as they look pretty similar.

I don't know about witch ignition coil is required but perhaps wizard might be a help
