Isetta Gear Linkage - RHD
« on: August 11, 2015, 08:30:35 am »
I have replaced all of the rubber bushes in the gear linkage. x4
The old ones had completely perished - disappeared.
The car was last used on the road over 30 years ago, perhaps more.  (it has never had windscreen washers fited)

I took it on its first drive expecting the gears to select nicely but.....
When I select first gear, the end of the lever (the end sitting in a slot in the rod inside the sleeve going through the bulkhead to the first linkage) jumps out of the slot and jams behind the end of the rod.

2nd, 3rd, 4th and reverse all select well.
I don't want to start adjusting all of the linkages as they have never been taken apart.  Just new rubber bushes fitted.

Anyone had the same problem
