Thanks..it was actually hand formed to look like it was pressed!

The internals are just a 3/8 chain, two sprockets, some bronze thrust/shaft bushes and a brass carrier for the output bolt... I'll do some pics when I strip it down for painting.

Very clever , I can imagine the amount of hours in it just thinking about how to do it , how does the ball joint (what ever it's called ) slide with the chain and keep stability?

Sorry to bring up such an old post, but I'm somewhat desperate to find a steering solution for a Peel Trident I'm helping a buddy with. For some reason none of the attached jpg files on this site will open on my computer. I can, however see the great pics by Grommet and his "reproduction" steering box. Is there any additional information or pics of this creation?
