Coventry Victor Engine
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:23:46 pm »
I wonder if all you good Microcar enthusiasts could help me.

I am trying to identify the origin of an engine which I believe to be a Coventry Victor 660cc horizontally opposed twin four stroke that was originally installed in a three wheeled cyclecar or light car of the late 1920's. It is owned by Hammond collection so Andrew and Jean have no more idea than me of it's origin

So far my reseach has drawn a blank, having contacted all the big car museum archives, and some of the classic car magazines.

Do any of you have any photographs of Coventry Victor engines that I can use to compare and identify the features of the engine?

Many thanks

Chris Thomas

Thank you Jawmedead

Yes I have spoken with them and they have nothing more than is on the web site.

The AN4 engine is the nearest but where the charb is on the AN4 engine there is a clutch and a two or three speed gearbox on the engine I am trying to identify, so the ancilleries are all different. Also the sump looks different.

It is very similar, that is why I think it may be a Coventry Victor, But I need more conclusive proof.

Many thanks again
