Model 70 Keys - How many variants?

The storey goes only a handful of different keys were needed to open and start a Model 70 Invalid Carriage.

I have just two keys per the image below.

On five Model 70s tested, both AC and Invacar, the left key works in most barrels but not all. 
The right key will work in some of the same barrels as the left key but not all of them.
The right key will work in one of the AC ignition barrels but the left key won’t....
Some barrels won’t operate with either key.

It’s strange that both keys work in some barrels but not others.  The non-working barrels are possibly either seized, although I’d be surprised, or there is possibly some other key variants for Model 70s out there???

Any advice or your experience would be most appreciated :-)

FS880 is the standard key for both ignition & all locks. Later replacement locks & ignitions in the 1980s & early'90s tend to be FP715. Some barrels can be incredibly worn inside & take all sorts of jiggling about to get the key to do anything at all...
