With most modern cars the damage usualy just LOOKS alarming. Way back in my foolish youth when I banger raced a Fiat 126, it ended up looking very much like this yet I could still get in & out of it ok & it actully drove off the track at the end of the day....

stuart,
bearing in mind that the Fiat 126 in its aircooled form comes within the reconised microcar 700cc engine size i hope you fully regret your actions ( and financial regret it as these little gems are increasing in value)

Hi Bob

Shame the car got smashed up, but I supose they wanted to test it and also have fun wrecking it at the same time.

If they are donating the dosh to chidren in need you can hardly complain about the way they are selling it on Ebay, where it stands a chance of some nutter buying it for a few quid more than it's worth.

The electrical stuff and some of the bits must be worth a few quid?????????

All the best

And just to set worried minds at rest, the Fiat 126 I had was seriusly mangled and on its way to the crusher even before it passed to me to race. It had been lifted by an Hiab by the roof, which meant the doors didn't properly shut. The entire left side of the floor had rusted out and it had been badly bodged mechanically. However it did have a totally mint interier, and the whole lot was transplanted free of charge into another local show-stopper-condition 126 which had suffered a fairly nasty interier fire.  I never raced anything at all saveable.
