Ah, so you have not sold ALL your vehicles then! Could I pick your brains Rob about electric bikes? What make is yours and what kind of range do you get on a charge, speed etc? I'm thinking of getting one.

Mike (blob), You're lucky to be able to ride pedal power. Wait a bit when you're old and the knees give up on you, then you can look silly too!  :P

                                               ************************************************************

Bob,  Bought the bike last year for £595 new from the local cycle shop, it was the cheapest model.. It's a Powabike, one of the best.

It came with a small basket on the front (for my folding walking stick) I have since put panniers on to carry my ebay sales to the Post Office.
I bought the Shopper with 'loop frame' 'cos I can't get me leg over any more.  :o
It has a range of about 20 miles with a bit of pedal help, slightly less if you use it power only. Top speed is about 12.5 mph and then the motor cuts out. You can pedal faster if you want with its 6 gears but what's the rush on a lovely sunny summers day. Just open the power and away you go.
I have done a round trip of 12 miles, power most of the way and the batteries used about 25% power. Just re-charge when you get home. One of my better buys I think.
If you are ever down this way come and have a go.   :D

As can be seen on the Powabyke web site they now call it a City Bike, also other models, maybe a trike for you Bob?  http://www.powabyke.com
The new X- Range sound good, bet they cost over a grand.

                                               **************************************************************

Stuart, One day I may make a modern pedal car for you. Back in the 1980s I restored a 5 seater bicycle for the local cycle club. It was awfull to ride though.  ;D

Many thanks Rob, they are not cheap but then again you can pay a lot more than this for a pushbike. We have a banquiting hall at the top of our road and I used to see the owner sail past my bungelow on one of these everyday on his way to his establishment, I didnt see him for a while then one day I saw a silver G-wiz go past, it was the same guy having gone 'up market'! I think they are great! The bike and the G-wiz.
